Amalgam Replacement

Amalgam replacement can improve the colour of your teeth, allowing you to smile with confidence. With advances in dental technology, amalgam replacement options now last just as long, with the added benefit of reducing the risk of teeth breaking as they are bonded to your teeth, unlike silver fillings. Matt’s focus is not just to improve the colour of these fillings but also to restore the natural anatomy your teeth require to function optimally.

Amalgam Replacement Options

Which options will be best for replacing amalgam fillings depends on the size of the filling and the structural integrity of the tooth:

Composite Restorations: This is a white filling material that is used to replace small to medium amalgams.

Porcelain Onlays and Crowns: These are porcelain caps to replace large amalgam fillings, protect weak teeth with visible cracks or breaks and those which have been root canal treated.

Treatment Duration

Composite Restorations: Single appointment.

Porcelain Onlays and Crowns: 2-3 weeks.

Your Journey

1. Complimentary E-Consultation

Initially we ask for you to complete our complimentary e-consultation form from the comfort of your own home. I will then send you a personalised report, which will go through my initial thoughts on how we can achieve your dream smile, as well as information about the estimated investment in your new smile and finance options.

2. Comprehensive Assessment

Following your complimentary e-consultation you will be invited to arrange a comprehensive records appointment, which allows us to create a plan tailored to your dental health and aesthetic requirements. This appointment involves an in-depth discussion regarding your concerns and goals, a full dental health assessment (including x-rays), photos and a 3D digital scan of your teeth and gums.

3. Treatment Planning

On the back of your comprehensive records appointment, I will start designing your dream smile using digital technology and creating your bespoke plan, which can take a few weeks. Once this is completed, we will invite you to arrange a treatment planning appointment, carried out from the comfort of your own home via Zoom, where I can present you with a simulation of your new smile, discuss your options and provide a detailed plan with information on the level of investment in your dream smile.

4. Treatment

We can then commence your treatment, once you are happy to proceed.

5. Maintenance

One of the most important parts of the process is maintaining your new smile, with good home care being vital. We will invite you to return for regular dental health assessments, reviews and hygiene appointments to ensure everything is well maintained.

Finance Options

We offer multiple options for financing your treatment:

  1. Finance (available on treatments over £2,000)
  2. Pay Up Front
  3. Pay Per Appointment (excludes Invisalign)

Discounts

We offer a 20% discount on treatment (exc. Invisalign) for patients who are part of our membership plan. As part of our membership plan, we will continue to see you for your regular dental health assessments, reviews and hygiene appointments.
